Substance use and addiction have no class, gender, or town lines. We exist to support people where they are and to see how we can work together to improve their overall quality of life.
Food insecurity, hunger, and malnutrition are serious issues that affect many households. That's why we work hard to make sure that no one in our community goes hungry.
Getting older means facing new challenges, but it doesn't mean facing them alone. We offer different programs aimed at helping older adults continue to live active and healthy lives.
It’s important to dispose of prescription drugs safely. That’s why we host Drug Take-Back events twice a year. We want to make sure our communities are safe and healthy, which means getting rid of unused or expired medications correctly.
In the interest of keeping our community safe, we are actively identifying alcohol establishments that sell to underage youth and enforcing state statutes. We also use compliance checks as an educational tool for merchants and liquor licensees.
If you’re looking for a safe and convenient way to get rid of your old prescription medications, consider dropping them off at one of our dropbox locations. Join us in our commitment to public safety and keeping our communities healthy and drug-free.
The Old School Pantry is a nonprofit food bank that provides fresh, locally-sourced foods to all residents of the River Valley area. There are no income guidelines or restrictions – all are welcome!
We help families by providing them with non-perishable food items such as cereal, canned veggies, fruit, meat, rice, pasta, soups, and essential items. These bags go out to every school in RSU 10 and RSU 56 during vacation breaks.
The Senior Commodities Food Program is a life-changing solution for elderly adults in need of nutritious food. The program ensures that those who struggle to or cannot purchase groceries can still receive high-quality, well-balanced meals.
Our monthly Senior Gatherings are a time to interact with other seniors and enjoy coffee, games, and other fun activities. During these meetings, older adults can also enjoy a Moving Freely class, which promotes safe physical activity. Plus, there’s always a free meal at the end of it!
The Moving Freely program is a gentle approach to physical activity that has shown success in helping people overcome pain and gain more mobility. The program’s unique system enables older adults to move their bodies without strain or stress.
